Last night Lisa (my gorgeous, awesome wife) and I went to an open house for some friends of ours to celebrate the buying of their condo. There was appetizers and good wine, and I did partake but I was really proud of myself for exercising some self-control and keeping things in moderation.
Today is sort of an off-day, as it's a holiday here in Madison. The yearly independence day fireworks set to music, "Rhythm & Booms" takes place about a block away from my folks' house. Nothing like celebrating independence day by having fighter jets do a fly-by while "rock you like a hurricane" plays, which is then followed by fireworks synchronized to old Springsteen and John Cougar tunes. Brings red, white, and blue tears to my eyes.. That aside, it's a family 'get-together and cook out' kind of day. I'll likely eat a brat and some baked beans, maybe drink some beers (2-3 at the most, and it's lighter-ish beer) but after today it's back to the diet strictly until our vacation in mid-July. Even though I may not be eating the best foods for the diet's eating plan, my portions have cut WAY down which I think at the moment is just as important. Plus with the Abs diet I have my one meal a week where I can intake anything I want. Food
